The Ichiro Ash Gold Master Scissor Set is a three-piece kit: two 440C convex-edge cutters in your choice of lengths plus a matching 6.0” thinner with 30 V-form teeth. The two cutters let you match blade length to technique; the thinner is the texturising piece, and at 30 teeth it blends and softens weight rather than carving heavy chunks.

• 440C steel at 58-60HRC: A properly hardened stainless across all three pieces — sharpens cleanly and holds an edge.
• Convex slice edge: A rounded bevel on both cutters for smooth blunt lines and slide work.
• 30 V-form teeth on the thinner: Each tooth points to sever the strand cleanly; a blending count for feathering and diffusing.
• 3D offset handle: Cranks the thumb forward to keep the wrist neutral and lower strain over long days.
• Choose two cutting lengths (5.0”-7.0”) with the fixed 6.0” thinner — pair a short detail blade with a longer over-comb one.

I would pair a 5.0” or 5.5” for detail and point work with a 6.5” or 7.0” for slide cutting and scissor-over-comb, then use the 30-tooth thinner for the texturising — a blending count that softens a perimeter and diffuses weight without leaving a line. The 440C at 58-60HRC is honest, well-made stainless and the offset keeps the wrist comfortable across a full day. Two things to weigh. The V-form teeth sever decisively, so on fine hair work in shallow passes; and 440C is a workhorse rather than cobalt, so on coarse resistant hair the blades dull sooner than VG-10 or ATS-314. The whole set is right-handed only. For a stylist who wants a complete, length-flexible kit in one buy without overspending, it is a sound foundation.”
