The Ichiro Ergo Slice & Serrated Set pairs one cutting scissor with a 6.0” thinner that carries 30 traceless teeth, in stainless alloy steel at 56-58 HRC. You choose the cutting blade: a 5.5” convex slice scissor for slide cutting, or a 6.0” micro-serrated scissor whose tiny serrations grip the hair for scissor-over-comb work without it sliding off the edge.

The thinner is the texturising half and it’s a forgiving spec. “Traceless” describes the tooth form — each tooth is cut to detach the strand cleanly so the blend lands without an obvious step — and at 30 teeth it takes a moderate cut rate (the share of hair removed per closed pass), enough to soften and de-weight without punching a hole. The cutter sets your shape; the thinner blends it.

“As a cut-and-blend pairing this is a smart starter kit, and the thinner is what rounds it out. The 6.0” 30-tooth traceless blade is the forgiving everyday spec — clean-detaching teeth at a moderate rate, so you blend and soften weight without leaving the step a coarse thinner can. On the cutting side, choose by technique: the 5.5” slice for slide cutting, or the micro-serrated 6.0” whose serrations grip the hair for scissor-over-comb, which is genuinely easier to learn on. Set expectations on two fronts. The single 30-tooth thinner finishes and de-weights rather than stripping heavy bulk fast, so very dense heads will want a coarser blade later. And the stainless alloy at 56-58 HRC is dependable training steel that will need sharpening sooner than a cobalt blade.
