Description

The Ichiro Hana Kit pairs a convex slice cutting scissor with a V-form thinner, both 6” and both in 440C steel at 58-60 HRC. The cutter handles your lines and slide cutting; the thinner takes the weight out and adds movement.

The thinner is the texturising half and a solid mid-range spec. Its V-shaped teeth meet the opposite blade at a point, so each strand is sheared cleanly rather than folded — that’s what keeps the blend smooth instead of stepped — and its cut rate (the share of hair removed per closed pass) runs around 20–25% on dry hair and 25–30% on wet. That’s the moderate band: enough to soften and de-weight, controlled enough to avoid an obvious shelf.

“This kit is a genuinely matched cut-and-blend pairing, and the thinner pulls its weight. The V-form teeth shear each strand cleanly, so at a 20–25% dry rate you get smooth blends, soft edges and movement without the creasing a blunt thinner leaves — a forgiving, do-most-things spec. The convex cutter alongside it is easy through wet hair for slice and blunt work, and at 440C / 58-60 HRC both blades hold their edge well above entry-level. Two honest limits. The thinner blends and de-weights rather than stripping heavy bulk fast, so very dense heads will eventually want a coarser, wider-tooth blade. And 440C, good as it is here, isn’t a cobalt edge-retention showpiece. For a stylist or a serious beginner wanting one coordinated set for cutting and texturising at a fair price, it’s a well-judged buy.”
