Professional Opinion
“Sixteen teeth is the count I reach for when I want texture I can see but not a dramatic reduction, and that’s exactly where this one lives. A 16-tooth V-pattern leaves more hair behind per pass than a 30-plus blender, so it’s a weight-removal and movement tool — softening a heavy fringe, breaking up a blunt perimeter, putting some lift into thick hair. On fine hair you’ll want a light hand, because a coarser tooth like this can leave a visible line if you sit it too high up the section.
It’s a 6.0” offset in 440C at 58-60HRC, comfortable in the hand for the repeated open-and-close that texturising involves. If your work is mostly fine blending and seamless detail, a higher tooth count will serve you better; for general weight reduction and adding movement to denser heads, this earns its keep. Right-hand only, and the V-teeth are honest about being bulk-reducers rather than finishers.”
