Description
This is a two-piece kit: a convex-edge cutter, sized from 5.0” up to 7.0”, paired with a 6.0” toothed thinner for blending and texturising. The finish reads rose gold (pink gold) with black accents — a coating over the blade — while the steel underneath is 440C stainless at 58-60HRC. It covers the two everyday jobs, line and blend, in one matched set.
The cutter’s convex edge handles blunt work and slide cutting; the thinner’s teeth lift weight out and add movement where you sit the blade. As with any toothed thinner, the rule is to keep it clear of the very ends and away from the hairline unless you want visible texture there.
- Two-piece kit: a convex slice cutter (5.0”-7.0”) plus a 6.0” toothed thinner for line and blend
- Convex cutter: clean blunt lines and smooth slide and point cutting
- 6.0” thinner: lifts weight and adds movement; sit it mid-section to keep the finish soft
- 440C at 58-60HRC: dependable stainless; honed sooner than a cobalt steel on coarse hair
- Rose gold + black finish: a coating over the blade — care at the pivot keeps the colour looking sharp
Professional Opinion
“This is a solid cut-and-blend pairing for a stylist who wants both jobs covered in one matched kit. The convex cutter gives you clean blunt lines and easy slide work, and the 6.0” thinner softens weight into that shape so the layers sit without a hard line. Being able to choose the cutter length from 5.0” to 7.0” means you can size it to detail work or long layers rather than compromising.
Where I’d manage expectations is the thinner’s job. It’s a blending and movement tool, so on a genuinely thick, coarse head it’ll take several passes where a coarse low-tooth-count blade would clear the bulk faster — if heavy removal is your daily work, add a coarser thinner alongside it. The 440C is reliable but not a hard cobalt steel, so it’ll want honing sooner under dense use. For a coordinated starter or backup kit, it does the everyday work well.”
