Description
This is a 6.0” texturiser built on a low tooth count: 15 teeth on a full convex-edge blade. A 15-tooth blade is a coarse, weight-removing tool — it leaves a wider gap between each tooth, so it takes a bigger bite of hair per pass than a 30-plus blender. That makes it a chunking and movement scissor: removing real bulk, breaking up a heavy perimeter, putting visible separation into thick hair. What lifts it is the steel — VG-10 Japanese stainless at 60-62HRC, harder than the brand’s 440C lines, holding its tooth edges sharp through far more cutting.
- 15 teeth on a convex blade: a coarse, weight-removing count — chunking and movement, not fine blending
- VG-10 at 60-62HRC: a harder steel that keeps its tooth edges sharp far longer than 440C
- 6.0” length: a versatile mid-size for sectioning and texturising across the head
- Tejina tension screw: holds its setting rather than creeping loose mid-client
- 3D offset handle: drops the thumb so the hand sits open through the repeated open-and-close of texturising
Professional Opinion
“This is a proper weight-remover, and the steel is why I’d choose it over a cheaper coarse blade. Fifteen teeth take a generous bite, so it clears bulk and creates real separation in thick hair in fewer passes than a fine blender ever would — and the VG-10 at 60-62HRC keeps those tooth edges sharp through far more cutting than a 440C tooth would survive. For chunking a dense head or breaking up a heavy line, it’s exactly the right tool.
The flip side is the one a coarse blade always carries: it’s not a finisher. On fine hair, or anywhere you want a seamless, invisible blend, that wide tooth gap can leave a step if you sit it high in the section — for that work you want a higher tooth count. VG-10 is also harder and less forgiving of a chip, wants drying and oiling, and it’s right-hand only. Used for what it is — a bulk-and-movement scissor — it’s a strong, long-lasting one.”
