It’s the Taiyo set’s twin in a polished-black coating — a finish over the blade, with the same VG-10 Japanese stainless at 60-62HRC underneath, harder than the brand’s 440C lines and holding a fine edge through far more cutting.

The pairing is line plus bulk. The convex cutter glides on slide work and drops a clean blunt line, and the 15-tooth texturiser takes a generous bite — it clears real weight from a thick head and creates separation in fewer passes than a fine blender would manage. At 60-62HRC the edges hold far longer than the brand’s 440C lines.

Set expectations on the texturiser, though: 15 teeth is a chunker, not a seamless finisher. On fine hair or where you want an invisible blend, that wide tooth gap can leave a step if you sit it high — for that, a higher tooth count serves better.
