The rainbow colour is an allergy-neutral coating over the blade — picked for the look and for being kind to nickel-sensitive skin — while the metal underneath is 440C stainless at 58-60HRC. Two cutters means you can set one up for detail and one for length, with the single thinner blending across both.

The thinner’s V-form teeth meet in a V rather than a rounded U-groove, giving a positive bite that lifts weight and adds movement. As with any toothed thinner, sit it mid-section and keep it clear of the very ends to keep the finish soft.

“The value here is the two-cutter setup against one thinner — choose a short blade for detail and a longer one for layers, and let the 6.0” V-form thinner blend across both. The convex edges slide cleanly and drop a tidy line, the teeth bite well enough to feather weight without dragging, and the allergy-neutral coating is a real benefit for nickel-sensitive hands rather than just a colour.

I’d ease off the ‘chunking’ claim, though. A V-form thinner like this blends and softens; it won’t strip bulk from a thick, coarse head the way a coarse, low-tooth-count blade will, so add one of those if heavy removal is routine. The 440C is reliable but not a hard cobalt steel, so it’ll want honing sooner under dense use, the coloured finish wants care at the pivot, and handedness is fixed per variant. As a coordinated kit for a stylist who blends more than they hollow, it’s a sound, good-looking buy.”
