This is a single-purpose 6.0” thinner with a V-form toothed blade — the teeth meet in a V rather than a rounded U-groove, giving a positive bite on the strands they catch. Its frontmatter rate of 20-25% on dry hair and 25-30% wet sits it in the blend-and-soften band: enough to lift visible weight and add movement without the hollowing a coarse chunker produces. The rainbow colour is an allergy-neutral coating over the blade, with 440C stainless beneath at 58-60HRC.

“As a standalone blending thinner this does the everyday softening jobs well. At a 20-25% dry take you can drop it into most cuts to ease a weight line, feather a fringe or break up a blunt perimeter, and the V-form teeth catch cleanly without dragging. The allergy-neutral coating is a genuine plus for anyone whose skin reacts to nickel, and the offset keeps the hand relaxed over a long pass.

The label I’d correct is ‘reducing bulk’ — at this rate it blends rather than strips. On a thick, coarse head you’ll be making several passes where a coarse, low-tooth-count blade would clear it faster, so reach for one of those when heavy removal is the job. It’s right-hand only, and the 440C wants honing sooner than a cobalt steel under daily dense work. For softening and movement on a mix of hair, it’s a dependable pick with some personality.”
