The Juntetsu Matte Black Offset Thinning Scissor is a 6.0” blender built around a wave (or scoop) tooth profile: each tooth rises and falls rather than running flat, so the cut is spread across the slope and weight eases out gradually. It is cut from Takefu VG10 at 60-62HRC on a 3D offset handle, finished in frost matte black.

“This is a blender I reach for when the brief is invisible — soft, seamless density reduction with no tracking. The wave-tooth profile is the reason: the shaped teeth spread each cut, so weight eases out gradually and blends fall in without the hard lines a coarse flat tooth can leave, and the gradual action is forgiving enough to make over-thinning harder to commit. The VG10 at 60-62HRC keeps the teeth biting cleanly, wet or dry, well past where a softer stainless would start dragging. Be clear on what it is not: that same gentle, spread-out cut means it is a finisher, not a fast debulker, so a thick, coarse head that needs real weight off quickly will still want a wide, coarse-toothed texturiser. A matte black coating also marks at the contact points over time, and there is no left-handed option here. For seamless blending on fine-to-medium hair, it is a genuinely capable thinner.”
