Description

The Kamisori Diamond Thinning Scissors are a 6” thinner with 30 super-fine teeth on a Japanese 3D convex edge, cut from high-molybdenum ATS-314 alloy steel. The fine, closely-set teeth put this firmly in blend-and-finish territory: they remove a little at a time and spread the cut evenly, so it diffuses weight and feathers a line cleanly with no marks left in the hair.

“This is a fine-blending specialist, and the tooth design is the whole story. Thirty super-fine, closely-set teeth remove only a little per pass and spread it evenly, so it is the tool for the softest, most invisible work — melting a demarcation line, feathering a perimeter, finishing fine to medium hair with no shelf and no holes. The high-molybdenum ATS-314 takes a genuinely fine point on each tooth and holds it, the 3D convex bevel releases hair cleanly, and the ball-bearing tension keeps the close consistent through detailed sessions. The trade-off of fine teeth is the obvious one: it removes very little weight per pass, so it is a finisher, not a debulker — trying to strip a thick coarse head with it will take all afternoon where a coarse texturiser would do it in moments. At its price it suits a stylist who finishes demanding hair daily, and the true left-hand build is a real plus for left-handers.”
